Mapleton Elementary School is the newest of the district's three elementary schools. The single-story structure is situated on 20 acres in the community of Mapleton, located 7 miles from Presque Isle. Built in 1975, the 45,000 square foot building replaced the former Higgins Elementary School. Mapleton Elementary School has a current enrollment of about 240 students, Pre-K through grade five.
