The MSAD#1 School Farm maintains honey bee hives, primarily to pollinate the crops.  Natural honey is collected and can be purchased as pure honey in 8 or 12 ounce bottles or honey comb.

Honey not only tastes good but  is a great natural source of carbohydrates which provide strength and energy to our bodies. Honey can be a powerful immune system booster.   Honey’s antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties can help improve digestive system and can help you stay healthy and fight disease.

Did you know:

  • A honey bee visits 50 to 100 blossoms during a collection trip.
  • It takes about 556 worker bees to gather enough pollen from 2 million flowers to make 1 pound of honey.

Natural honey is available seasonally
at the School Farm.
