Enjoy fresh berries!

As delicious as they are nutritious, fresh berries of all kinds are high in vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, and powerful phytochemicals that are an important part of a healthy, balanced diet.

A variety of vegetables are grown at the MSAD#1 School Farm and include beans, beets, blueberries, cabbage, carrots, corn, cucumbers, kohlrabi, onions, peas, peppers,  potatoes, pumpkins, radishes, raspberries, spinach,  squash, strawberries,  tomatoes, turnip.  They are picked daily and processed for consumer convenience.

Along with vegetables, the farm also grows a variety of berries.  Blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are picked fresh daily and sorted by students to ensure that consumers receive only the best berries from the harvest.  Be sure to try our delicious strawberry jam and our  frozen ready-to-bake apple, strawberry or strawberry rhubarb pies!

Eat 5 a day for your health!

Did you know that only 25% of adults and high school students in Maine eat the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables daily?  Current scientific evidence demonstrates that eating at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day is associated with improved health!
