that the success of students has been, is, and must remain our primary focus, the district
states its goals in student centered terms. We value the involvement of the entire

Maine School Administrative District No.1 serves the primary and secondary educational needs of the city of Presque Isle and surrounding towns of Chapman, Castle Hill, Mapleton, and Westfield. M.S.A.D.#1 is Northern Maine's largest school district and offers a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities. Approximately 1,900 students are housed in three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Presque Isle High School has been designated as a "National School of Excellence" by the Department of Education and has been recognized as one of Maine's highest-achieving high schools on the Maine Educational Assessment testing battery.
