The MSAD #1 school community believes that the future of America depends on a well-educated, literate, articulate, and caring populace. Recognizing that the success of students has been, is, and must remain our primary focus, the district states its goals in student centered terms. We value the involvement of the entire community in achieving our goals, and, within the limits of resources available, we pledge to continue our high quality programs.

We hope that the information on this web site will better acquaint you with MSAD #1 programs, activities, and personnel. Please feel free to call any of our schools or the central office if you have any questionsMaine School Administrative District No.1 serves the primary and secondary educational needs of the city of Presque Isle and the surrounding towns of Chapman, Castle Hill, Mapleton, and Westfield. M.S.A.D.#1 is Northern Maine’s largest school district and offers a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities. Approximately 1,900 students are housed in three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Presque Isle High School has been designated as a “National School of Excellence” by the Department of Education and has been recognized as one of Maine’s highest-achieving high schools on the Maine Educational Assessment testing battery.

MSAD #1 offers an outstanding education with diverse curricular and extracurricular offerings for students.  We provide high-level learning opportunities in art, music, drama, and computer science, as 

well as multiple Advanced Placement and dual enrollment courses that allow students to obtain college credit through Presque Isle High School.  These academic opportunities, along with an extensive number of clubs and athletic activities, are unmatched by other schools in our area.
