Presque Isle Tech Center

On September 14 – 16, Mrs. McCurry, Mrs. Gross, Mr. Espling and 15 students traveled to Springfield, MA to attend FFA Days at the Big E. We visited the agricultural exhibits, the state houses and were able to network with members of chapters from the whole Northeast region. Lane Carmichael competed in the Creed Speaking event and placed sixth, while both Samantha Edgecomb and Bailey Davenport competed individually in the Agriscience Fair event. Team events included Dairy Cattle Evaluation with Aaron Chase, Maddie Brazier, Jonas Elliott and Violet Gregg competing and the Veterinary Science event with team members Mia Arcott, Abrum Jackson, Addison Hafford and Maddox Michaud. The Agricultural Mechanics and Technology team was comprised of Cameron Wilcox, Josiah Kierstead, Mason Oakes and Chase Plourde and Cameron placed sixth overall in that event. This trip led to the formation of a very cohesive group, a major factor in strengthening our FFA chapter and enhancing this core group’s ability to provide leadership within their local chapter.
